Nothing says the South more than Southern food, and here’s your chance to experience a range of styles all in one satisfying afternoon
Southern Style Food Tour
Downtown Franklin is home to several dozen local eateries, serving everything from BBQ sliders and fried green tomatoes to seafood and gumbo, and we'll visit five of them on our Southern food tour. We’ll also stop in at three shops where we'll sample spices, sweets and local honey. Whether you’re a local or a Franklin visitor looking to expand your experience, this is the perfect activity. You’ll leave with a helping of knowledge, a full tummy and new friends! Come hungry! Our friendly restauranteurs load up the plates with their special fare. The Southern staples will come with a bit of background on each offering and the five-block walking tour will include some interesting tidbits of information along the way. We mix it up each tour, choosing from among Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant, Merridee’s Breadbasket, Puckett's Boathouse, Gray's on Main, Kilwin's Ice Cream and Fudge, Early's Honey Stand and Savory Spice Shop. All selections are always made fresh for our group and you'll enjoy meeting each restaurant's chef or proprietor.

"If you really want to get a taste of what Franklin has to offer, you can take a food tour with Franklin on Foot. It's fun, educational, and a great way to experience multiple eateries when you can't pick just one."

"The Southern Style food tour was the most interesting and different tasteful tour we have made in our 10 journeys to the U.S. from our home in Denmark. We got a superb introduction to the Southern way of cooking…you are not leaving Franklin hungry after this experience."
